Notes from Evolve Security Academy

The short version

I completed Evolve Security Academy's immersive cybersecurity apprenticeship and earned the ESCP certification. The program was built to feel like operations pressure, not slide decks — threat hunting, red teaming, malware analysis, and live incident response scenarios.

What changed in how I work

• Think in paths, not tools. Attackers chain misconfigurations, weak controls, and human factors. Mapping those paths (often with MITRE ATT&CK) matters more than memorizing product UIs.
• Offense sharpens defense. Running the exploit makes the detection gap obvious. That loop is now how I approach lab work.
• Write for the team that has to live with the finding. Clear remediation beats clever severity scores nobody can act on.

Where I'm headed

I'm looking for SOC Analyst I or Junior Penetration Tester roles — places where I can keep practicing under experienced mentors while contributing real coverage. The homelab and public writeups are how I keep that muscle warm between interviews and engagements.
